I can't bring myself to write spoilers, but it's tempting! Truly, what a crazy, maniacal, deliciously disturbing chain of events! Loved it! Ya know what else really impresses me? I love that fact that Ms. Ellison's books are edited so amazingly well! There's not a slew of typographical errors or messed up pages ebook or redundancies. That's just classy, imo. No matter how good a story is, if it's chalk full of "the the" or misspellings, or the same adjectives over and over, etc. I'm know I'm not yet very good at reviewing, I'm trying to learn. They could easily be read out of order, I'm just very "TYPE A" and prefer to stay in the order of publication when it's possible.
If you're considering trying out the "Taylor" books or "Sam's" series, I really, really think you'll be pleased. Ellison is a damn fine author. Thanks for stopping by, always! Sam has been working on a cold case, a series of killings over a year-period which seem to have no connection except that each female victim was from the same hometown of New Orleans, dubbed the Hometown Killer. There are different story lines presented, all of which seem to converge towards the end of the novel. The novel is well-written, with the story taking place over little more than a day, just about the time it took me to read this intriguing, fast-paced tale.

Ellison's What Lies Behind, the 4th installment in the Samantha Owens thriller series, get ready to be at the edge of the seat for this thrill ride. It all started when Sam woke up to the sound of sirens, which wasn't usual for this former medical examiner.

As they were called into a meeting of the local politicians, they wanted to know what they've found out, as they were on a manhunt for a killer and a possible leak of who killed one of their own and why someone came close of dying. Worst of all, Sam's boyfriend Xander was stuck in the midst of this crisis, too, until there was a shocking truth revealed in the end. I tried to read this book twice and abandoned it both times. However, now that the action has moved to the DC area, she has created characters that just aren't likable.

Seems like the author moved from good crime writing to gratuitous romance woman must have man to survive life writing. Nov 07, Robin rated it it was amazing. The title What Lies Behind seems somewhat ironic in this instance, as I see this as a the new iteration of Dr. Samantha Owens. This installment involves Sam in a case that forces her to spread her wings and become more of a force in the investigation, rather than the scientific liaison.
Sam really grows as an investigator in her own right here an I really enjoyed seeing the character develop. Kudos to Ellison for keeping Sam's stories fresh and exciting! I debated between 3 or 4 stars and 4 won simply because I like TJ Ellison. This was not my favorite book. It seemed to take forever to finish and became long and drawn out. All the same, I would recommend reading What Lies Behind. May 12, Irmak Ertuna-howison rated it did not like it. Another reason for an increase in utilization could be that fresh capacity has hardly been added for a long time now. In such a scenario, even a small rise in demand could mean an increase in production using existing capacity. Lastly, the survey itself is not as robust anymore. The number of respondents has been dropping significantly over the past one year. In the previous survey conducted for the third quarter, respondents participated. The average participation number used to be above 1, until FY Economists said not much can be read into the findings by the central bank and it should not be seen in isolation.
To be sure, more granular findings of the capacity utilization survey are not available yet, and the utilization number is an early indication. Moreover, other surveys of the central bank concur with the ongoing slowdown in the economy. For instance, the Consumer Confidence Survey shows that Indians are less optimistic than before on employment prospects and earnings.
The RBI policy statement noted that early findings of the industrial outlook survey show that business sentiment has not improved much either.
