Right now, I have her for Pharmacology. We had one test on the history of pharmacology 3 weeks ago and that's it. Last class and the class before, the entire 4 hour class, she talked to us about how hard pharm is - She kept saying we need to begin lecture, but she just kept talking about nothing related. Then, during one class, she said for us to have a 5 minute break. So we did, and we came back and she never came back to class.
She popped in at the end and said "OMG, are you guys still here?! You can leave now! I've been reading our book anyway, but there's a lot of material I need help with. I asked her a few questions but she never answers. She attempts to, but she always goes off into another subject - She is one of those people that when they start talking, they can't stop. And it goes from one thing to another to another to another for hours until she doesn't even remember what she began talking about in the first place.
Never the subject matter. With her permission, I've been recording the 'lectures' and so has one of my friends. Why she agreed I'll never know She knows she is in hot water already with the DON. Needless to say, this week we are heading over to the DON to have a little word about the situation. It's not just her, though The entrie nursing program is terrible. There is one instructor whom I adore. Thankfully I do have her this semester. I've been talking to her personally about what's been going on and how I'm thinking about leaving nursing for good, and she's advising me against it and trying to help me out.
Though she said if I'd like to go to another NS, she will send me with a letter of recommendation. She is well known in this state, actually and has taught at many schools in the area and has worked in the best hospitals in the country. She's very well known and highly respected. That also makes me have second thoughts. I've always had a strong passion for nursing and feel it's best for me.
I'm doing very well and enjoy clinicals. However, all of these stories I hear I don't know anymore From her mother, who is determined to set her up with a doctor, to her cousin, who spends most of her time looking down her nose at Sky, to her uncle, who loves her unconditionally, the story is as much about one woman's happily ever after as it is about her crazy, loving family. And then there's the man who fell from the sky… Hayden is hotness personified, and he's a hell of a lot more fun than that ex of hers. The attraction is immediate, but they've both been burned before, so they've got a few hurdles to clear before they can truly give into their connection.
For Sky, the issue is… Well, it's everything. She's having to refigure her life since her last relationship fell apart, and with all the insanity of both the wedding and her family, she's simply lost. For Hayden, the issue is just how incredibly decent he is.
Always the good guy, he's used to being left behind, and trusting a girl who doesn't even trust her own judgement is a tough move. I absolutely love the variety of characters, and as anyone with a big family can tell you, they're absolutely real. Watching Sky reclaim her confidence and stand up to them all — and then more or less save the day when the whole wedding was up in the air — was awesome.
She really deserved to seize control of her own life, especially after what she went through before. When I wasn't freaking out alongside her, I was laughing at her family's antics and swooning over Hayden, and I simply couldn't put the book down! Sky and Hayden are easily some of the most interesting characters I've read lately, and while they were certainly solid romance characters, they were just different enough to avoid the usual cookie-cutter ones I usually come across. Zoraida Cordova is a pretty incredible writer, weaving what sounds like a standard romance into something classic yet different, and I find myself truly escaping into the pages while I read her stories.
I'd say I can't wait to see what comes next in the series, but the truth is that I'm probably game for reading just about anything she writes at this point. With as much romance as I read, I'm used to different versions of the same old story, but so far Cordova's writing is anything but the usual, predictable fare. May 10, Ambur rated it it was amazing Shelves: romance , new-adult. I listened to and loved the first book in the On the Verge series, and I was so excited to read this one!!!
I really enjoyed Sky in Luck on the Line, so I was thrilled to get to see what happened to her in Love on the Ledge, and I was definitely not disapointed! Hayden kicks Bradley's butt anyday! I loved the characters, the story, the romance, the banter The main character, Sky, was so refreshing and real. After going through a rough I listened to and loved the first book in the On the Verge series, and I was so excited to read this one!!!
After going through a rough breakup, and being forced to reconsider her life, Sky was trying to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. I thought that was something that most people can relate to, I know that I certainly related to her! I also loved how Sky worried about what her family thought of her, and was conscious of their opinions, but when it really mattered, she stood up for herself.
I loved that when push came to shove, Sky did what she thought was right! The way they met was so unique and memorable, and he was just such an absolutely wonderful man! It's so great to see a love interest who definitely has flaws, but is a nice, all-around great guy, and Hayden was definitely that! I especially loved how Hayden treated Sky. It's amazing to see a "nice" guy as a love interest, it really doesn't happen as often as it should. If you can't already tell, I'm a Hayden fangirl, too! It was a wonderful story with fantastic characters! The romance was amazing, and the story itself moved at a really great pace.
The entire book felt so natural, and it felt like I was right there in the story with Sky and Hayden! May 12, Mignon Mykel rated it it was amazing Shelves: contemporary , series , new-adult. I read book one, Luck on the Line, a few months ago and I loved it. I loved Lucky and James, and their bantering, their love, their way of communicating I just loved them.
So needless to say, I was super pumped to read the rest of this series. When I first started reading this title, I was sad that the series didn't seemingly connect. I mean, I get standalone books in a series, but surely a series as to have something that will 4. I mean, I get standalone books in a series, but surely a series as to have something that will connect the books, right?! Oh, yes No worries, worry-wart Mignon There's a connection.
Pulled Back From the Ledge Again: Thoughts after Flyers 4, Rangers 0
Sky, our main character and the voice of the book, is newly single -- her boyfriend of many years, who her family swore she'd marry, cheated on her with an older woman, Stella. Lucky's mom. Surprisingly enough, to both me and Sky, Sky has developed a friendship with Lucky. So anyway. Sky determines to be single for a while, she's done with men.
Her family, though, wants her married off and will stop at nothing to get her to date other men. Sky swears she won't date again until a good guy falls at her feet I really liked Hayden. I liked that Sky didn't give in to his flirtatious ways and held back her name for a few days, too, but I liked that Hayden wanted to get to know her and kept pushing. He wasn't annoying about it, by any means, but he wasn't going to let her say no. Sure, he let her use the "we can be friends" schpeel, but in a little bit of time, Sky found herself wanting to spend more time with him, wanting to talk to him.
River, Sky's friend, has her moments in this book -- enough for you to want to figure her out. I'm very happy to see that she's the key player in book three! I wasn't too sure about Love on the Ledge at the beginning, but I ended up being sold! When it starts, Sky is planning her Uncles' wedding. Things are going fine, but then a man falls through her ceiling. Thankfully, he's not hurt, and he's also gorgeous.
Pulled Back From the Ledge Again: Thoughts after Flyers 4, Rangers 0 | Crossing Broad
Sky isn't looking for a relationship right now, since her boyfriend just cheated on her and she's trying to get her life together. But Hayden is pretty irresistible, and a much better choice than the creep her mother wants to set her up with. Lo I wasn't too sure about Love on the Ledge at the beginning, but I ended up being sold! Love on the Ledge started off a little rocky for me. I'm generally just not into weddings, even if it's a gay one. Sky starts running into a lot of issues with the wedding planning and it just seemed like a bit much. Every single little thing goes wrong.
It felt a little forced to me. Like a way to make Sky feel like her life is falling even more apart than she thought. It doesn't help that her family is kind of awful and simply doesn't care about her feelings. But there's a point where she essentially tells them to eff off, and that was when I started loving it!
As for the romance, I adored it! Hayden is the self-proclaimed nice guy. He's been burned before by women who would rather be with men who disrespect them or treat them like crap. That's one thing that he cannot abide by, and he actually comes to Sky's rescue a couple of times when her unwanted suitor steps over the line.
But being nice doesn't mean boring. They have some seriously steamy scenes together! Love on the Ledge does end abruptly. Sky and Hayden are officially together in true Romance fashion, then end scene. But there's also some craziness before that involving Sky's friend, River. WTF is going on?! It was totally out of nowhere and unexpected and just meant that I had to pick up the next book immediately. I love that the only solid long-term relationship in this novel is between two men and interracial.
They definitely gave me feelings. I also do think they have a nice initial connection. Also, heads up, this series is not the best edited. There were a few hilarious typos. Not my favorite but a good way to spend a couple hours. So much fun! You just get to step into this huge, crazy family and friends so close they feel like family and are swept in from the first chapter. Sky has been burned bad by her ex and the last thing in the world she is looking for is love.
Until a hunky roofer literally falls through the ceiling and into her path. Their romance is so real. Sky is wary of So much fun! Sky is wary of starting anything. But they are continually drawn to one another. Watching them spend more and more time together was such a pleasure to read. It was so genuine. That was the best part about this book. The realness of it in the family dynamics, the relationship, the conversations. I just downed this book. A lot of fun! Apr 16, Marjorie rated it really liked it Shelves: review. This was a great read. Romance and some problems to solve as well as some unwanted male attention. Sky is at a point in her life where she doesn't know which direction to go in her life. Her boyfriend cheated on her, so she left him. She also left her job as a nurse and moved out of the city that she was living in. She has decided to spend the summer planning her uncles' wedding. Sky is struggling with lack of confidence in her own I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. Sky is struggling with lack of confidence in her own abilities and an inability to trust others.
The excitement starts when a hot guy literally falls from the sky and this starts the problems arising with the wedding planning. Add an overeager suitor and an ex-boyfriend for some added drama. I loved Sky's big extended family, especially River and Leti. The characters felt very well rounded. I will definitely look into reading more of this author's work. The way Sky and I was so intrigued with the synopsis of this novel, yet I was unsure of what my reaction would be to the storyline. The way Sky and Hayden met had me instantly hooked. It was unconventional, hilarious and utterly embarrassing.
I couldn't wait to see what Cordova had in store next for these two marvelous characters. Love on the Ledge is a fun, light and romantic read that is perfect for summer. I received an ARC for an honest review. This is the second book of the On The Verge series but is a standalone. I didn't read the first one yet but that was OK I didn't get lost in the story line.
How would you talk a stranger off the ledge?
I really liked this story it was funny and sexy. I enjoyed reading Sky and Hayden's story. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. I really liked the setting for this one too, and bumping into characters we've already met. With romance, heartbreak, good friends, a big family, and lots of laugh-out-loud moments, this was a fresh and fun read that I was totally caught up in from page one.

Although Love on the Ledge is the second book in the three-book series, they are all standalone books. Fast forward, and Sky is seeking the comfort of friends Reviewed by Amy W Book provided by author Originally posted at Romancing the Book Having read the first book in the On the Verge series by Zoraida Cordova, I was hoping to get a sneak peek of what happened next with Lucky and James. Fast forward, and Sky is seeking the comfort of friends and family after ditching Bradley.
At this point in the story, the author provides a diversion for Sky by getting her involved in wedding plans. As the storyline develops, a new cast of characters is introduced. Perfect, although Xandro and Hayden are more than willing not counting Bradley the dirtbag. Both Xandro and Hayden offer the promise of happiness, but it takes a series of events — one featuring the main character in the third book — to show Sky the path to her future. Readers who come from big families will chuckle at some of the scenes as the matchmakers try their best to find Sky a partner.
The title makes a lot of sense for this story because Sky literally is on the verge of finding love…if only she allows herself to do it. Sky is such a great character - I hated her in Luck on the Line, but then she grew on me in the end and now I love her. Letty and River are excellent side characters, as are Lucky and James. The materials used in the restaurant are simple but versatile by texture. Rough and smooth, cold and warm. Construction of the ramp is reasonably simple using U form steel profiles that are connected with straight ones for the strength and stability of the construction.
